Lovely walking and cycling (the owner will provide bikes) can be enjoyed along quiet country lanes – perhaps taking in the famous Pingo Trail or stopping for lunch at the local inn (1½ miles) – as well as in nearby Thetford Forest, where many exciting outdoor pursuits and events are available. Anglers will find good fishing at Swangy pits (1 mile). Within an easy drive, visitors will discover a wide range of attractions and great days out – boat trips on the Norfolk Broads, the pretty fishing villages and glorious beaches of the North Norfolk coast, the Queen's Estate at Sandringham, Snetterton race track and bustling Sunday market (3 miles), zoos, nature reserves, steam museums and beautiful gardens. And no stay in Norfolk would be complete without exploring the charming medieval city of Norwich with its impressive cathedral, castle, restaurants, galleries, museums, cinema, theatre and excellent shopping opportunities. Taking a break in one of our holiday cottages in Norfolk is the ideal way to explore this atmospheric and historic county. The coastline is the major attraction here, with miles of sandy beaches stretching from historic King’s Lynn all the way round to Great Yarmouth, famous for its Golden Mile and multitude of seaside attractions and entertainments. Cromer (noted for its crabs and pier), Sheringham and Hunstanton are also firm family favourites. If you prefer something quieter during your stay in one of our holiday cottages in Norfolk, try the North Norfolk Coast, a designated Area of Natural Beauty and a haven for walkers and birdwatchers. Venture inland and you’ll discover a gently rolling landscape dotted with flint cottages and ancient churches.
The county town of Norwich is one of England’s best-preserved cities and is a joy to wander around. Don’t miss a visit to the magnificent cathedral towering above the surrounding medieval streets. East of the city lie the Norfolk Broads, a vast expanse of interconnected lakes and waterways which has long been a firm favourite with sailors. Hire a boat for a day to see them at their best. Less
well-known are the mysterious Brecks, a wilderness area of heaths and forests and one of the least-populated parts of the country.
